making a pto shaft help

Recommended Posts

I guess the guy I got my tractor from has lost the PTO shaft, the part that hooks to the tractor. I found some parts and am thinking about trying to make one. Any thoughts if this will work? I plan on taking the quick connect off the tractor that is pinned to the pto shaft, weld it to the end of the knuckle that I have and then cut off the other end of the shaft that is a 1" square and weld a 3/4 inch square by 13" that is needed to fit the pto to my bush hog and tiller then all I should have to do Is pin it to the PTO shaft on the tractor. other than that I really don't know what to do, I haven't been able to find the 15 tooth PTO anywhere

Have you checked with agrisupply.com on line, they have quite a variety of PTO components to choose from.
