I can tell you now it wont look that good. Btw, did Terry supply the decals? Glenn Thanks and Yes they are Terry's decals. Every little part was taken apart on the decks right down to every little bearing and seal. New bearings, seals, hardware, wheels, blades, pulleys, some NOS gears, belts, bushings, and that deck right there is a NOS deck housing I found at the spring Mentone swap meet this year. So pretty much a new deck again.
RedRanger 1,468 #27 Posted December 7, 2015 Well....They're done. Almost. I pinched a tube while mounting the first one, so I I'll have to get a tube and remount one of them. Might paint the letters on the tires too. Here's what I started with. Wet Paint. Drying. Dried. Mounted. Close up. Amazing stuff. Soft satin finish. Matches the tires on my other tractors in color and sheen. Can't tell that these are 50+ years old. Does not look or act like paint. More like a dye. It seems to penetrate. Can't scratch or scrape it. I mixed 4 oz of color with 4 oz of water. Used about 2 oz total. Only 1 oz per tire. This stuff goes forever. It covered the old stains with ease. Nothing bleeds through. Dries fast too. 45 degree day and I was able to mount them less than an hour after painting. I used a foam brush. Worked good. No brush marks.

I think its great. Glenn Glenn- I ended up buying a different brand for less money. Got a gallon for less than the Miller brand. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll ever use it all though. I've got nearly a full gallon left. From my calculations, I can still do another 64 tires with what's left. https://www.alltiresupply.com/product/1-gal-concentrate-black-tire-paint-water-base Thinking about this, if any of you want some of this stuff, I'd be willing to bottle some up and mail it to you. Cheap. No need for you to buy a quart or gallon. Just PM, me. Edited December 7, 2015 by RedRanger

WHX?? 49,580 #31 Posted December 7, 2015 Wow does work good, If you wouldn't have told us those tires are 50 YO I would have been the proverbial monkey's uncle. I did notice that Miller's wasn't exactly given the stuff away either. 12 hours ago, RedRanger said: I pinched a tube while mounting the first one Been there done that......not since I was 12 years old and with bicycles tho... 11 hours ago, RedRanger said: Dries fast too. 45 degree day and I was able to mount them less than an hour after painting. Typical "I can't wait for the paint to dry to work on this tractor" mentality!
