WNYPCRepair 1,923 #1 Posted November 1, 2015 I have a 48 SD deck, model begins with a 5 (not 05, unless they didn't use the zero on the labels). I downloaded every parts manual for 48" SD decks with model numbers beginning with a 5, but none match. The pulley covers on top are two piece, all the ones I found (that start with a 5) are one piece. It has three 3" wide anti scalp rollers across the front. Blades are held on by a 1 1/8" nut on top and bottom of the blade. Pulleys are held on with a 1 1/8" nut also. I need to order spindles and pulleys, bearings, etc. It looks like this one:
daveoman1966 3,762 #2 Posted November 1, 2015 If you are looking for an old deck model such as 5-1010 that is a early 1970s deck. If so, the spindles you describe have been upgraded. Enter a deck model number exactly like this: 05-48MS02 . That should get you started for 48" parts. On very many schematics, Wheelhorse combined lots of like-kind parts on some schematics making it a bit confusing.. (in the pic above, part# 2 (reinforcement plate) is only for the 48" deck with the with the wide covers 3 and 40. This causes lots and lots of confusion. However, there are many identical parts shared between the 42" and 48" decks....INCLUDING SPINDLES.I can provide you with ALL the parts you'll need to get the deck repaired.
