DougC 2,641 #5 Posted October 22, 2015 You got me beat cleat. Im alot farther south, so my winter team is a 1956 Ford 860 Ag tractor with 6foot rear blade, 1995 520H with front blade and chains, wife with 1 metal and 1 plastic snow shovel and 1 glove (lost the other one....) and hoping tomorow my 1988 520H with single stage 42 inch blower and chains will be delivered from Wisc.
Wheel-N-It 2,968 #6 Posted October 22, 2015 Very impressive Cleat!!!
cleat 5,675 #7 Posted October 22, 2015 I learned how to drive on a 1959 Ford 865. That old tractor even had a front end loader. I wish I could go back in time and buy it before it got sold.
cheesegrader 433 #8 Posted October 22, 2015 Those 520's look brand new.I remember seeing pictures when you started on them.Amazing!
Pullstart 62,160 #9 Posted October 23, 2015 I'd love to sit and watch that big diesel toss some snow around! As long as it wasn't in my direction.

Here are a couple of old videos of that diesel at work. Nice and warm in the heated cab too.. Cleat
RedRanger 1,468 #13 Posted November 23, 2015 I like the tire pads. Keep those rusty chains off the concrete! That's a lot of snow removal equipment. Commercial use or just your own driveway???
cleat 5,675 #14 Posted November 23, 2015 I cut little pieces of EPDM rubber gasket material at work for those pads. They will hopefully serve 2 purposes, keep rust stains off the concrete and may stop chains from rusting in the first place. I know that is a lot of equipment. This winter I will try everything out and decide what to keep and possibly sell the rest ( implements, not tractors). Cleat
Pullstart 62,160 #15 Posted November 23, 2015 Nice to see it at work, I'd imagine it would take a good heavy blizzard with a big grin for sure.
cleat 5,675 #16 Posted December 30, 2015 Well, I finally got to try out the 2 stage blower on a 520H. Snow is not real deep but it is very heavy ice crystal snow with a fairly thick covering of solid ice on top. Works real well and throws snow a long ways. Only problem is steering but a slight lift of the blower gets it going the right direction. No wheel weights but the rear tires are loaded. Auger sounds like it is hitting something, I will check that out once it drys out in the heated shop. Cleat
Vinylguy 4,672 #17 Posted December 30, 2015 Love the pictures of you 520's Cleat.
cleat 5,675 #18 Posted December 30, 2015 Ticking sound was the auger hitting the front right bolt on the skid. Flipped the carriage bolt around so round head was on the inside and problem solved. Did the other side too just in case. Cleat

Once I get the rest of the decals from you the snow blower will look as good as the tractor. Thanks, Cleat
cleat 5,675 #20 Posted February 20, 2016 Well, I finally got to do a head to head comparison between the old short chute single stage and the 2 stage blowers. No contest, the single stage will be sold. Single stage has new idlers, bearings, proper Wheel Horse belt etc. 2 stage has been completely redone. Next will be to try out the blade with the newly constructed blade angle adjusting handle.

cleat 5,675 #22 Posted April 2, 2016 Snow blower ready for bed. It is on a pallet so I can move it with my large tractor with the forks on and sit it up on a shelf for storage. That will have to wait for now until the ground dries up enough to drive the heavy tractor on it.
