BOB ELLISON 2,981 #27 Posted November 1, 2015 Excellent work, I like the lights, I may steal your idea You can do it .all you have to make is 3 brackets. And they are adjustable up and down.
tbarnhart 240 #28 Posted November 1, 2015 I like the lights as well. I did something similar with my C-160. The lights I got came from Wally World and are a bit smaller. I put a plate in place of the original lens and mounted the halogen lights through the plate. To finish it off, Terry made me a decal for the front so it looks very close to original just much more functional. Just be careful running the lights long with the engine idling, the lights pull about 10 amps and the alternator doesn't charge that much at slow speeds. Its fine for awhile if your battery is good, just something to think about.
BOB ELLISON 2,981 #29 Posted November 3, 2015 tbarnhartI like yours more then mine but I could not find the smaller lights you put in your tractorso I had to buy a little bigger ones. I do like that mine can be adjusted up or down.
tbarnhart 240 #30 Posted November 4, 2015 The only problem I've had with mine come as a result of the light design. The light housings are metal with a glass lens bonded to the front. Their are small slots in the metal housing to allow air to pass through to cool the bulb. 55w halogen lamps build up a lot of heat. My problem is that dust and grass fines have collected in the lamps and I have to take them apart and clean it out. I've thought about sealing off the slots, but I'm afraid they may get too hot. Not a real big deal, because I don't use them much, but they are nice. Mine don't adjust at all, but the focus is actually pretty good.
