muz123 1,191 #1 Posted October 10, 2015 (edited) Im ready for winter!! I got all of my snow attachments on today. First off is my 1993 520-H with 494 hours. Second is my 1990 212-H with around 1518 hours. Third is my 1988 212-6 with 383 hours. Last but not least my 2007 315-8 with 167 hours. I swear the 212-6 and the 315 will go through just about anything!! The 212-H with the plow will be for clean up. I think its funny how the two 200 series look so small but they can do a lot! DennisThornton 4,769 #9 Posted October 11, 2015 Look at those snow blower tires!! Man I like that! ("those" might be more correct but I only assume there is another on the left side!)I'm once again assuming that you like that configuration! And while I normally snicker when I see ags on the front of a RWD tractor I'm thinking with those weights they might really help!So please, share your deepest thoughts!
muz123 1,191 #10 Posted October 11, 2015 Do you guys recommend rubber tire chains? I was thinking about getting some for my 212-6..
DennisThornton 4,769 #11 Posted October 11, 2015 (edited) Rubber tire chains? You one of those city guys? Sorry, blacktop is outlawed around here... We like really aggressive ice paws on our chains here in gravelville. Of course the rubbers are nicer on your blacktop if you spin a lot but if you realize that you are no longer moving but your clutch or hydro is still engaged and the engine still revving then rubber is going to tear out less driveway, just more rubber tire chain. My preference, really aggressive traction and a keen ear to have I stopped and my tractor has not. Yours and other's mileage will vary... cheesegrader 433 #12 Posted October 11, 2015 I thought we would see a few more Snow Team Pictures.None of mine have a cup holder. I feel like I forgot a vital detail!THe rubber chains won't leave marks, but they will still spin.Regular chains aren't too bad on concrete, but they will gouge blacktop pretty bad.I use 2-link v-bar chains on the gravel and ice at the cabin. Incredible traction, but devestating to anything underneath.I've also added diamond pattern chains on the ags on the loader. I saw a set that Knutson had, and was so impressed that I tried them.Huge improvement over Ag traction, especially on the ice.
squonk 40,739 #13 Posted October 11, 2015 I use the AG's on the front because they don't seem to slide as much as turfs and I don't want to wrap a chain around a front tire. They are on backwards because they are supposed to be for a non driving wheel. Those blower wheels keep it out of the gravel and make it easier to move around when it's off the tractor
