Question about wheel spacers

Recommended Posts

Mattrix37495

I've been doing a lot of reading and it seems that duals are not a good idea due to a high risk of broken axles.

I mow a couple ditches and am looking for more stability so I'm wondering how much of a spacer I can put between the hub and rear wheel without ricking breaking something.

I also plan on putting fluid in all 4 tires as I replace them, and possibly adding weight racks to help pull trailers (empty tandem axle flatbed or 4'x8' loaded with firewood) on softer ground and push snow. (In case the extra weight affects how much of a spacer I can run)

i wanted to add wider wheels....just for looks... wheel spacers are already produced...Mustang wheel spacers are the same bolt pattern
so,,,you find 4 1/2 by 4 1/2 spacers....i have used 3 inch.and had no issues,,,,,,Garden Tractor pullers do it to add 26x12x12tires  wheels and dont break them.....
they sell on E Bay all the time.....               oh and they are great to keep the snow chains off the plow in the winter.!!!!!!!

Make sure you use longer wheel studs with wheel adapters.

sounds like a perfect time to convert to studs and lugnuts if you ask me... but then again I haven't done that yet myself.  another something on my list of things to do...

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll try to fins some 2" spacers to get a little bit wider track and hopefully not tip over. It's not fun doing all that ditch with a weed eater..
