Eric C 109 #1 Posted September 27, 2015 I came across a pair of 24x12x12 turfs in my shed while putting away all the pool stuff. Decided to see what they look like on my B100. Before: After: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

DennisThornton 4,769 #6 Posted September 27, 2015 Wow! Side by side visuals! Quite the difference! Now, was that 22 vs 24 or 22.5 vs 24? Seems I have 22.5s and 23s but no 22s or 24s! Maybe my Lxi has 12" wide rims? Not sure....

857 horse 2,581 #10 Posted September 28, 2015 the green tractor in the first pic....looks like it has 100lb weights......in each wheel
Eric C 109 #11 Posted September 28, 2015 (edited) the green tractor in the first pic....looks like it has 100lb weights......in each wheel I cast those weights a long time ago using the 24x12x12's. They weigh only 44 to 45 lbs. though. Those 24's came from the factory on that green Craftsman. It has been a good machine considering i picked it up for free, curbside. It had a Kohler Vtwin with a wiped cam. I swapped in a 18 horse Briggs opposed (has since been replaced again with a 19.9 and fabbed with an aftermarket GM alternator to run a winch and lights), dash tower, wiring harness, and hood from an older '94 craftsman (the silver ones). The hydro is a serviceable (with a filter) unit made by Hydro Gear. I think this was Sears "top of the line" when new. It has a Sleeve Hitch (electric actuator) and a swisher bucket mounted up front. I have moved a good bit of material with it. Edited September 28, 2015 by Eric C
clueless 3,012 #12 Posted September 28, 2015 Are those Kenda terra trac on the 520?How are they on your lawn? Chris in Florida.
Eric C 109 #13 Posted September 28, 2015 Are those Kenda terra trac on the 520?How are they on your lawn? Chris in Florida. Chris- Yes, they are. I'm running them loaded with windshield washer fluid. They have a very smooth ride compared to the AG's that were on it; and I don't need chains like I did with turf tires. They will rip the turf to shreds if I lose traction. But that happens very very seldom. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
elcamino/wheelhorse 9,358 #14 Posted September 28, 2015 Send a good picture of the Craftsman and also the tires on the 520 . The more I learn the better off I am.
clueless 3,012 #15 Posted September 29, 2015 Thanks for the Kenda tire info. Down here the only thing we put washer fluid in is the reservoir under the hood of the truck. The only things we put chains on is the front hook on the said truck when it is knee deep in mud and the porch swing. Eric C 109 #17 Posted September 29, 2015 Send a good picture of the Craftsman and also the tires on the 520 . The more I learn the better off I am. Here are some shots of the 520 tires. Two inch wheel spacers from http://www.xtrememotorworks.com/Parts%20Catalog/Cub%20Cadet%20Parts%20Dual%20Wheel%20Spacers.htm These wheels came from a 94 Craftsman. They did not have the correct offset, hence the spacers. It widens the track just slightly, which help swith stability on some of the hills and slopes I have to deal with. You can see some of the hills in the last pic. I will post a separate topic on the craftsman setup after I get some pics/vid. elcamino/wheelhorse 9,358 #18 Posted September 29, 2015 Thanks , It would be hard to get stuck with those. Planning on moving to S W PA next year so moving snow is in my future. Snow is better than the heat ,humidity , and other factors in Richmond.
Eric C 109 #19 Posted September 29, 2015 I spent many childhood summers in SW Pa. coal country, Fayette County. Sorry, but you'll still get hot and humid unless you are in the mountains. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

ronhatch 406 #21 Posted September 30, 2015 (edited) Just my personal opinion, but I like the diameter of the 24 x 12's, but not the width. I've been looking for a tire that is 24" in diameter but only 8.5" in width for my C 101.. Any suggestions? I do like the tread design on the Kendra Terra's.
