Coadster32 793 #14 Posted December 4, 2008 Awesome job. I hope my 551 restore comes out that good. Did you brush the frame and tranny, or rattle can it? I'm having an internal dilema :hide:
joebob 45 #15 Posted December 6, 2008 sprayed every thing base/clear coat, whats is the dilema I can spray them and install in about two hours no waiting for paint to dry and if I scratch them, there easy to touch up and the cost is not as bad as it seems if you think cost to looks/ durability your way ahead, its the first time that gets $, you just cant buy just what you need you have to buy bulk, pint, quart, gallon, that the cost part, I can spray a whole round hood tractor with about a quart of base and 3/4 guart of clear. whfan74 2,068 #16 Posted December 12, 2008 That sure does look pretty. I hope my 551 will turn out as nice as that! Enjoy the tractor!
Suburban 550 28 #17 Posted December 17, 2008 Looks really good Joebob. Base coat/ clear coat is the way to go for looks and durability. A little more expensive but well worth the money.
CasualObserver 3,408 #18 Posted January 28, 2009 Hey Joe!!! I just realized when I posted these pics in another thread that your 551 is visible. This is what the tractor above looked like at the end of August 2008 when Joe took it home!
