60" mower questions

Recommended Posts

mancanic2

I recently purchased a nice used 60" deck. Pto belt frayed and spindle belt went under center pulley. Am I correct that spindle belt goes on the bottom pulley, as it is very tight and level on the upper center spindle. pics can be uploaded as needed.

Thanks,

dale

My spindle belt rides on the top. The belt from the PTO is on the bottom, which is a bit of a pain when removing the mower deck, but that's another issue. Maybe this pic will help.

Mine goes on the bottom pulley, drive belt on top

What model number is your deck?

The 520-Series have the drive belt on the bottom and the spindle belt on top.

The 5xi-Series  have the drive belt on top and the spindle belt on the bottom.

Mine is a 520, and I am sure the drive belt is on top

Mine in on the bottom as well trapped under the spindle belt.

Has not caused much grief in removing the deck, I just leave the belt in and remove the mule drive with the deck.

I just double checked, my drive belt is on top, spindle on bottom. I don't think my belt would be long enough if it were reversed.

Looks like the 115223 belt routing decal was used on all the 60" decks for the 520-Series.

Both of my 60" decks have the drive belt on the bottom, spindle belt on top.
Both have the same decal showing this order.
