Snowblower chain

I'm working on a 1968 6-2211 (ST-326) Snowbower. I need to replace the chain. The chain on it is slightly smaller than the #40 chain I have on the shelf. I suppose at some point ,someone could have put the wrong size chain on. Does any one know what size there older blowers take?

Thanks for the chart. I looked for something like that and all I found were charts Nasa would have been proud of. I think the #40 chain I have will work. Here's pics of the old and new side by side.

Looks like it will work.  I think your new chain is just a little heavier.
The next size up or down at Fleet Farm is nowhere near what you have.

How'd that chain work out? I'm in the same situation now trying to get an ST-326 chain replaced before the next snow hits in five days.

Mike I'm almost positive that when you did that same blower for me, it was a #40 chain.

SQUONK, agree with above on the # 40 chain , another thing with that is  to stay with a chain specific lubricant , yours looks good . most of the time they are starved for lubricant , also pay attention to your tension , should be able to spin it over by hand , never let it dry  out, pete
