Jake Kuhn 1,556 #1 Posted September 2, 2015 Well I found yet a another project to work on. lol. Been wanting a 701 for a couple years now but just never found the right deal on one. Got this one last week. Traded a 48" mower deck for it. Its in pieces but mostly there and not in too bad of shape. Has pretty much all the hard to find parts on it which is a plus. It will probably be on hold for a while but figured I would post it for now. I want to at least finish one tractor before I start on this one but that may change. When I do start on it I will probably just build a rolling chassis and then figure out what all is missing and find them then or sooner if I'm lucky. I did get the engine running yesterday and it ran pretty good but did smoke just a little bit. It will probably be torn down to inspect and at least get a valve job and honed but whatever it needs to be right will be done. Anyways here's a couple pictures of it. Its kind of scattered all over!It had the incorrect wheels on it, but I have a good set that will be used on it.

Jake Kuhn 1,556 #4 Posted September 2, 2015 Thanks guys. And I don't know if mine will be that nice but will try my best at it. Denny sure did a nice job on that I love all the chrome pieces he put on it. I may put a set of hl5s on this one and have a back rest I think I will use too. slammer302 2,155 #5 Posted September 2, 2015 I like the looks of the lights and a back rest would also look good. Your steering wheel looks to be in good condition too!

Jake Kuhn 1,556 #9 Posted September 3, 2015 (edited) Well I couldn't help it. Project has Begun!I'm going to just start off by getting it back to a roller frame again and then it may sit for a while or I may build the rest off of there. I have a rebuilt trans sitting here for it already. And I can borrow a set of tires that were going to be used on the 59, because that project is going pretty slow. I may start blasting parts today. Jake Kuhn 1,556 #15 Posted September 4, 2015 (edited) Thanks all, and didn't get a lot of time to spend on it today but did get a couple of parts blasted. Hope to get these and the transmission painted sometime next week and hopefully have a couple other parts ready by then too.. Tomorrow hope to dig around and see if I have whats missing of the lift setup think I may have what it needs somewhere. Also will be looking for a nice belt guard if anyone here has one they want to let go of please let me know. Thanks! DennisThornton 4,769 #20 Posted September 6, 2015 Cabinet or outside pressure blaster? I had both but moved and they didn't come with me... I miss 'em... Pressure blaster would flat remove some rust and pretty quick! Cabinet was handy but not nearly as powerful.
