jcp0420 109 #103 Posted February 23, 2016 That ambulance is going to sum it all up. I'm afraid of it already. Ordered a new carb today. It should be here by Friday, bit the class ends next Tuesday. So if I don't get done at school I'll be haulig it back to the farm and tinkering on it here and there whenever I can. My classmate brought a carb in that was close to the same as mine and we had it running well. Then all the sudden it goes wide open without touching it. I'm getting pretty frustrated about the whole situation and I will be searching all over Craigslist tonight looking for another motor. I did get a picture today...which I will post. And I will keep everyone updated on it as much as possible. And I have a very short clip of it running so I will upload to YouTube also in a little bit.

jcp0420 109 #108 Posted February 25, 2016 Well the new carb came in and she runs great. Absolutely no leaks like the other carbs. Gotta fine tune it and should be running great soon. Also this spring I will have to overhaul the rear end. She leaked out all over the place last night. I went ahead and put everything on the get some good pics. Looks awesome!
AMC RULES 37,143 #109 Posted February 25, 2016 Might try a new air filter on that new carb too.
Jparkes43 329 #110 Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) looks awesome and i'm glad its working well. just my little input here. if it was my tractor i would swap out the air filter. for something fitting with the theme. like on my gx200 powered lawn ranger just my thoughts. also just to say ignore the old photo she's currently under restoration james 3 minutes ago, AMC RULES said: Might try a new air filter on that new carb too. aha we must have posted that literally at the same time james Edited February 25, 2016 by Jparkes43
jcp0420 109 #111 Posted February 25, 2016 I was thinking the same thing as the both of you! I have the original cover for the current air filter but will probably grab a cold air intake filter and fab something up as well!
jcp0420 109 #112 Posted February 26, 2016 No updates today. I will continue to work on it Monday and hopefully have a video of it running and possibly driving. Only thing is I wont have my tool box since I have to move it to my internship.I am also trying to get the mower moved over to my brother in laws shop so I can tear into the rear end. I will update y'all more on that later. If you have any suggestions on overhauling the rear end...that would be great.
Cole J. 71 #113 Posted February 27, 2016 I don't know if this is true with tractors but with motorcycles and some car engines different air intake may deplete the proformance of the engine

I will do a little more research on it. But I'm going to start gathering parts for a different kind of build with this mower. Thinking a live axle swap and a 150cc motor lol. jcp0420 109 #115 Posted February 27, 2016 I gotta treat for you guys today. Ended up working on a big hobny with my brother in law and a smaller hobby of my dad's. My dad builds custom pedal tractors from scratch besides the hood. I enjoy helping him out since he's beginning to get shaky and can't hold onto some things anymore. I also helped brother in law with one of his pulling trucks. I enjoy working on these. I think it's a very fun learning experiene. The 5 engine tractor is also part of tue families. Of course I grabbed some pics!! And yes...that is real money in the paint job! Lol

squonk 41,731 #125 Posted March 1, 2016 As I was glancing thru the photo's I was going to advise those aluminum pulleys are not designed to do what you're trying to accomplish. someone's going to get hurt!
