That's tough luck!  You'll get  the next one.

I hope! I can't wait until I can buy my first wheel horse!

You'll get one.  It may take some time, but there's one a waitin' for you somewhere.

If it runs and drives OK and the deck comes with it that is a great price.   :woohoo:

I'd love to but unfortunately I don't have the money, I'm a broke kid :laughing-rofl: I talked to him and he said if he still has it in a couple months when I have some money, he'd sell it to me. What do you think of the raider 10's?

Doesn't sound to bad as long as it has good spark. Those soild state teckys can be priceie if the coil goes bad. Looks like it would clean up nice with sum steel wool and a rub down with sum light oil.

If he is close by and has some uninviting tasks that need to be done he may be willing to let you work off the price.

If I had the opportunity, would you recommend switching to a Kohler motor?

Maybe! I'll talk to him about it.

the 10hp tecumseh is supposed to be a good engine so i would leave it alone if its running. But if the solid state ignition goes bad i would probably look for a kohler.

Do you know how much is it to replace the solid state ignition?

I have a 12hp Tecumseh on a 1968 SS12 tractor. Great running engine. It had the solid state ignition on it til it died a couple years ago. New ones were not available but I found a source online for a battery ignition system that replaces the old solid state unit. Not bad to install, I think cost was around $120.00

I have two horses with HH 100 Tecumseh engines and they have been such good runners that even if I eventually had to make an expensive repair I would not swap to a kohler :hide:
