CasualObserver 3,408 #4 Posted July 22, 2015 Frankly your story could use a little more plot development. Seriously though, Can you elaborate on the process? What did you use to cut the cylinder? How did you hold it while cutting?Where in the cylinder did you cut? (Does it make a difference where you cut?)How did you weld it back together without blowing a hole through it? (that cylinder wall can't be very thick)How long did this repair take?Any ballpark of what this repair costs? Oh, and I see you're in Hastings.... when is the Little Log House show? Have I missed it this year?Have you been or will you be coming to LeSueur?

WHX?? 49,247 #8 Posted July 23, 2015 I think yer pulling our stump....never heard of that being done before. I woulda thought would have been easier to go to TS and get a new one.
bmsgaffer 2,045 #9 Posted July 24, 2015 I have seen someone else on here repair a cylinder by cutting it apart (not necessarily in half... but like one end off) and re-welding it...Does TS has the right size cylinder for our application? Havent found many small replacement cylinders.
