Front wheel bearings for SK 486

Need some suggestions. I have 4 new heavy duty wheel bearings for my SK 486 front wheels. On one wheel the bearings fit snug and tight.  The other wheel the new bearings are loose and spin easily. How should I get them to fit snug. Can  I have them spot welded on  ?

I had a similar problem with a wheel on a SK-486. The tube that the bearing slides into was split. on the inside only. I pressed a 1-1/2" ID rod stop collar over the tubing and it worked well.

Loctite makes a product for ill-fitting parts but have never used it.
If the tubing is not split I would try JB weld. Get the parts spotless with solvent or Brakeclean. Apply a very thin layer inside the tube and a thicker layer on the bearing OD. Then turn the bearing as you push it in to spead the material around evenly. You don't want to have much excess on the inside when you are finished because there is no way to remove it.

As usual Garry has good suggestions...the loctite is pretty good and will handle a fair size sloppy fit, but I'll another comment --- dont weld them!

Bearing sloppiness is pretty common on our horses.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I am going to try that on the wheel. Once I figure out how to get some pictures posted of my SK 486 I will post my progress. I am restoring the wheels with new paint ivory white, fixing the bearing problem, new V61's are going on the front. I think what caused the one wheel to go bad on the  bearings to slip is that 2 different size tires were on the front. Anyway thanks again I will up date how it turns out.

When I have a hub that is a little too big for the bearing, I tap gently around the outside of it with a small hammer. All you need to do is close it up enough to keep the bearing from falling out.  Once mounted, the shims, washers and e-ring or spindle bolt will keep it securely in place.
