kudzu3 323 #1 Posted July 3, 2015 On my 1970 raider 10, the original impulse fuel pump screwed into the carb. This type of carb is not available anymore and the replacement carb (new) does not have the threaded port for the fuel pump to attach, so I just placed it in the gas line and it seems to be fine that way. I was just wondering if anyone has replaced this type pump with something else and just how did you do it and what type pump did you replace it with?
AMC RULES 37,143 #2 Posted July 3, 2015 Removed mine from the 653... no issues...the gravity feed runs just fine.
Bert 760 #3 Posted July 3, 2015 (edited) Ive used the plastic briggs fuel pumps and they work good and are cheap, the only problem is they don't mount up well and you will have to be creative. I will get a pic shortly. Edited July 3, 2015 by Bert
kudzu3 323 #4 Posted July 3, 2015 I tried the gravity feed, didn't work . It works well with the pump in line, but just wondering about other solutions.
Bert 760 #5 Posted July 4, 2015 1st pic is hard to see, its under the tank. 2nd pic is the same type of pump mounted with a bracket from a gt1100
AMC RULES 37,143 #6 Posted July 4, 2015 Wonder, if the Raiders fuel tank is lower than the carbs inlet?
Bert 760 #7 Posted July 4, 2015 Wonder, if the Raiders fuel tank is lower than the carbs inlet? IDK but a friend of mine has a HH100 from a massey 10 in a and it does not have a port for a pump, that tractor starves if its not on level ground.
AMC RULES 37,143 #8 Posted July 4, 2015 Sounds like it is... and, has to have a pump. I think, I've read the Skonk posting about using a cheap Napa electric fuel pump...and having pretty good results.
