oblianna 1 #1 Posted June 30, 2015 Does anyone know where to get 16x6.50-6 tires for a 416-8 Wheel Horse?
Wheel-N-It 2,971 #2 Posted June 30, 2015 Try your local Tractor Supply.
boovuc 1,090 #3 Posted June 30, 2015 I see what oblianna is seeing and that is not much online. There are some 13 x 6.50 x 6 but no 16" tires. The 16 x 6.50 tires are almost all for 8" rims. The Tractor Supply 13x6.50x6 is probably your best bet.If I may comment............I never knew a 416, (Onan or Kohler powered), to use a 6 inch front rim. 400 series were all 8 inch to my knowledge. Are you positive you need 6" tires?By the way..............................Welcome to RedSquare! Wheel-N-It 2,971 #4 Posted June 30, 2015 Sorry about that Boo. I must have jumped the gun on that one.
Dennys502 245 #5 Posted June 30, 2015 boovuc is right 416-8's were 8" - you're looking for the wrong tires unless someone switched rims.
oblianna 1 #6 Posted June 30, 2015 Thanks for the welcome there Boovuc. It lists them in the original owners manual and that's what is on it. I find it very strange that no one has this size tires.
bmsgaffer 2,046 #7 Posted June 30, 2015 Y0u mention 16x6.5-8 in the chat box, if that is the case (which it should be, I am 90% sure that IS what came on the tractor) they are very easy to find! Here is just one source: http://www.millertire.com/categories/lawn-garden-tires/16x6-50-8/
oblianna 1 #8 Posted June 30, 2015 Boovuc,You are my hero. The manual is a misprint and my old eyes convinced me an 8 was a 6, but a flashlight and really close to it, it turned out to be an 8.Problem solved. Thanks.

Never had a problem with speedy delivery or pricing.I like the two ply tires, easy ride. Nowadays I'm pretty much mowin' or pulling a wagon, don't need front ags. I put the 16 x 7.5 - 8's turfs on my 416-8 and my 520-8.http://www.millertire.com/products/lawn-garden-tires/16x7-50-8/16x7-50-8-carlisle-turf-saver-2-ply/ Edited July 1, 2015 by Tankman

boovuc 1,090 #13 Posted July 1, 2015 I see and seeing is believing, Jack. Ii don't know why 6" rims are on the front of it but I never knew of a 400 series that they came on. It is one of the "upgrades" you pay for when you go from a 300 series to the 400 and 500 series tractors.Oblianna.I'm glad you found the misprint. And you are right at home here with the eyesight! And for those of us who didn't take care of of ears also, well, here is a "what"? Huh? And a "I'm sorry, but I didn't hear you" to go with it!
Dennys502 245 #14 Posted July 1, 2015 (edited) I looked at the parts manual and both the hydro and 8 speed had 6" rims. Learn something new every day. I always thought the 400 series had 8" rims.It looks like 94 was the first year for 8" rims on the 400 series. Edited July 1, 2015 by Dennys502
boovuc 1,090 #15 Posted July 1, 2015 Hi Denny,My 1987 417-8 Speed has 8 inch rims. My 1992 416- 8 Speed has 8 inch rims.

I think it was a misprint (as they are pretty common on WH manuals). As far as I knew the 8" wheels all came stock, but I will be willing to bet some dealers changed out wheels and spindles to accommodate people who wanted that 37" deck (the whole reason behind the 6" wheels)

Dennys502 245 #20 Posted July 2, 2015 I looked at the manual and didn't see a 1987 417-8 it looks like they stopped making them in 86 just before toro purchased them. The 1986 417-8 lists both 6" and 8" rims. As does the 1992 416-8. Lots of different variations.
boovuc 1,090 #21 Posted July 2, 2015 Sorry Denny. My 1986 417-8. Not 1987.You need to work for our local paper as a proof reader!I forgot about the smaller deck needing the 6 inch wheels. Good point gaffer. I'm sure there were a lot of dealers that swapped out spindles and rims to accomodate a customer who wanted the 37" deck. I love mine on my 310-8. (With 6 inch front rims)! Tankman 3,520 #22 Posted July 2, 2015 (edited) My '88 414-8 and '85 416-8 both have, came with too, 8" rims. The only change, older Horses, I've seen was color; almond vs. steel gray. The Owners Manual reads 16 x 6.50-8 for the 400's, 15 x 6.00-6 for the 300 series. I use Miller's 16 x 7.50-8 turfs however my B-10 Allis Chalmers and Pennsylvania Panzer use front and rear ag's. AMCDUST 0 #24 Posted June 20, 2023 my book clearly says 6 and so do the tires. no-one has them. It seems you would have to buy new rims. Miller tire also wants to sell you 8's (6/'23)
