New Owner in Berkshire UK

Recommended Posts

I have five tractors all at least 25 years old and would like to compare notes on maintenance and sources of parts, but Internet search failed to find owner group anywhere in Europe, let alone in Berkshire! Am I truly alone here?

Hi from another newbie who until a year ago was also in Berkshire, list your herd...assuming they are all horses.... You may then get other owners of the type pop up with info.
Me? Less than a week owning a 1972 800 3 speed.

Hi Ed, you are not alone here, there are a good few UK members that visit here , I have been here for nearly five years now & have around 15 tractors in the collection.
you may also like to try our sister site with many other UKN members.        www.myoldmachine.com

Welcome to Redsquare ,look forward to hearing all about your tractors.

Hi Ed,

glad you found us...  Welcome to RS - did you not find wheel-horse.co.uk and the wheel horse register?

be great to hear and see more about your collection.

Hi Mark - I started at wheelhose.co.uk, and just checked again, there are no UK 'Horses listed. One or two in Europe but most are in the USA. I am normally quite good at navigating web sites but this one may have beaten me! Any tips? I have one each 10, 12 and 14 and 2 16 HP. Pics to follow. Edgar

It's in the UK register, http://www.wheel-horse.co.uk/WH_database.htm

they are all UK, there are many more, but lots have folks haven't logged them all. I have 9, but only few listed.

U R not alone!

Hi from another UK horse fiend :UK: and welcome to the forum.
Some photos of your horses would be nice to see as we love looking at pics and discussing things.
Plenty of advice and experience available on the forum when it comes to sourcing parts, repairing things etc in fact this is one of the friendliest forums I've come across.
Good to have you along.

Andy

Hi

I am new to this site

I also live in Berkshire UK and have a D-200 with cutting deck in my garage (I will get round to registering it and posting pics one day)

I have owned it for about 20 years but I am thinking of selling it.soon

I have managed to obtain spares, but not always easy

My biggest challenge to date was sourcing parts for rebuilding the PTO clutch

Pearsons Mailorder stock (and can obtain) Wheelhorse spares (watering.co.uk, email at anyname@watering.co.uk)

they even have an online enquiry form for wheel horse parts https://www.watering.co.uk/services/toro-and-wheel-horse-spares-enquiry-form.html but you need to know the part numbers first.

I find the following sites useful for identifying part numbers:

https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm?xCaller=Toro (where 01-20KS00 is the D-200)

also

http://torotractorspares.co.uk/part-lists/

Hope this helps

Hi Gazza

Nice restoration Gary - looks like new

I live near Twyford (between Reading and Maidenhead)

My D-200 wheelhorse (and its 42-inch deck) is sadly sitting in the garage and in need of TLC.

I had some issues a couple of years ago when the PTO clutch seized (bearing disintegrated). I managed to find parts and re-assemble it. Since then however I have never got the geometry right to re-engage the clutch fully.

So the lawn is now cut by another ride-on but I do miss the riding around on the wheelhorse.
