Mith 2 #1 Posted January 8, 2008 Hi, I need some engine numbers for this tractor, its a K series Kohler is it? It needs a new gear on the starter motor, as the current one is worn, its 10 teeth. Any help appreciated!
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,496 #2 Posted January 8, 2008 Jim, You sure it's a '74? According to the WheelHorseAllYears excel file, a 74 Raider would be a Raider 12 with a 12 HP Kohler engine in it (with an engine model number of K301S-47421D) Now there was a 72 and a 73 Raider 10 which had a 10 hp Kohler with an engine model number of K241S-46636D. Mith 2 #3 Posted January 8, 2008 Fairly sure (might be a US/UK thing) I actually have a brochure here from 1974 with a raider 10 in, partsviewer comes up with a 1974 raider 10 too.... Still, thanks for the engine number, just what I was looking for. Any thoughts on where to find a part number for the starter gear? Thanks Terry. :D
Mith 2 #4 Posted January 8, 2008 I just looked at the WH excel file and there is a Raider 10 listed as 1974, it says C series in the description though, but raider 10 in the type. Same engine number as you said though. :D
Stigian 1,234 #5 Posted January 8, 2008 My Raider 10 is a 74, it has a (non working now) K241S :D
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,496 #6 Posted January 8, 2008 Jim, Good catch. You're right - I overlooked it, possibly because of the C-series or just plain outright overlooked it (more the case). :D
Buzz 502 #7 Posted January 9, 2008 Mith, go to: http://www.kohlerplus.com/login.asp and enter as guest. Enter your engine and spec numbers (K241S-46636D) and you 'll get a complete parts breakdown of that engine including starter. Good luck
