CasualObserver 3,408 #51 Posted November 14, 2008 Jason, you may want to break this into a new topic. I did a "little white serial tag" inventory and came up with the following: SOME attachments (mainly what appears to be the earlier ones) used the white tags starting with A- prefix. Later attachments that had these tags seem to have lost the A- prefix. Here's my list of what I have with tags WT-242 tiller A-32066 LMR-302 reel mower A-6266 ST-302 snow thrower A-2221 ST-3072 snow thrower A-10897 ST-323 snow thrower A-27183 WT-244 tiller 21078 BD-4264 dozer blade 33780 I realize this is off topic, but it may show us how they started to use up these serial tags. Lets get some 604, 654, 704 numbers and see how those stack up to the 1045 numbers we have. Hrmm... from your list looks like they dropped the "A" from the decals in 64... same time as they started putting some on the tractors. I also have a BD-something blade and a WT-244 with "little white serial tags" at home... I'll check their numbers tonight or tomorrow. I don't think my ST-323 has a number anymore. Brian1045 28 #52 Posted November 14, 2008 Does anyone have a 1045 with a serial older than #21533? That may explain why mine was sitting at a dealership in May of '64. Whether is was ordered or not, It was brought home in July of '64. Most of the others may have came later in the year.....hence the '65 confusion. :hide:
CasualObserver 3,408 #53 Posted November 14, 2008 Just to throw something out in relation to that... don't take this as gospel, but I was told by an old dealer who was involved with the Indy events that the tractors they used for the race were sponsored by area dealers that attended the event, and they took them home with them after the events. Maybe your 1045 was one of the ones in the picture. That would explain the early arrival to the dealer. Just throwing out ideas here. :hide:
