Help needed with some measurements please

Having recently acquired a 36" tiller I need to fab a mid mount idler / mule drive thingy for a C series tractor. I came across a couple of threads where guys have made their own versions but I thought I'd have a go at making one to the original design. I don't have one to copy so correct me if I'm wrong but I think it should look like this.

I've ordered the two pulleys as OEM equivalents and I think I have the correct spring in my WH junk box based on a partstree photo and counting coils but here's where measurements start becoming important.

To be sure about the spring, the length and width of the coiled part would be useful.
I'll also need the width and thickness of the flatbar used.

Critical measurements: pulley separation centre to centre, offset in that top flat bar crank, center to centre v-pulley to hole for spring, width of those spacers (#39).

I know it's a pain to measure all these bits but can anyone help with this? A photo of an original would also be useful thanks.

Andy

Go to the tenth post by smoreau , there are pictures he supplied with a tape measure to get you started. I've never built that style but I'm sure you can do it. Just scale from the pictures. Rich Edited by 312Hydro

Thanks for that - I used the simple search on the site rather than advanced so I didn't come across the thread you mentioned which has pretty much all I need.

Also spoilt for choice now! Do I, go for the design contemporary with the tractor and tiller, go for the improved later design, and if so do I include the safety guard or not (no comment). That's great input now from three threads which will help me put something together.

I'm looking for someone to build a mule drive for my 1979 c-141 for a tiller I just bought.
