callum12 256 #1 Posted June 11, 2015 hi all,as you know I've got a 3 speed uni-drive for project agri-800, i believe it is the 5053 type. every thing seems really good with it except there is a bit of end float on the axles, i'd say about 2mm (.078"). is this normal? there is no up/ down side to side movement, just this end float. there is about the same end float on the input shaft, again, is this normal?thanks for looking Callum
Racinbob 11,259 #2 Posted June 11, 2015 (edited) That's perfectly fine for the axles. Check the end play on the input shaft with it in 3rd gear. If there's any then it could mean the input gear is slightly disengaging from the 3rd/2nd gear. Not a good thing. Edited June 11, 2015 by Racinbob

callum12 256 #4 Posted June 14, 2015 there is the tinniest bit of play in third, i think that would be ok?callum
Racinbob 11,259 #5 Posted June 14, 2015 That's OK as long as it's very minimal. If you were to take a look at how the 3rd/2nd gear meshes with the input gear it would be clear to you. I had close to 1/8" on mine and in my opinion that was a smoking gun.
