T607 Seat/Fender Reapir - pic heavy

Recommended Posts

The fender came off the mounting bracket - or the bracket came off the fender - either way the air gap made life difficult.

Today I fixed that.  I cleaned the parts up and set to work.  I drilled out the holes for the #10-32 machine screws, I had to drill out the fender washers too.  I used ny-lock nuts instead of split washers - turned out nice and clean.  The fender is in very good shape and I plan on using Herculiner on the underside when I get ready to do the mower deck.  The bushings at the pivot point were gone so I used the cap nut trick I saw in here - turns out 1/2 was fine - opening the end was a bit of a chore but between drilling, punching and chiseling off the end it came out clean.

I'm missing one of the rubber buttons up front and there's some paint gone because the bracket scrapes the frame - If anyone can point me to a source I'd appreciate it.

Oh and I found my steering wheel cover - just needs a new decal as the old one is unrecognizable - I call that a small victory.
Thanks for looking

Any sources for the rubber bits would be appreciated - I'll buy an old one or new, I would like to have the bumpers back to OEM and stop the paint chipping/wear problem.
Thanks All

I get these 1" push-in rubber bumpers on ebay, they are 5/16" thick so I sand them down on a belt sander to the thickness that is a snug fit when closed, the ones along the side I put in backwards so the smaller rounded end makes contact, Bumpers.thumb.jpg.bf96c8f41d7c4029bd435b

I bought new OEM (4) rubber bumpers( item # 5667) and( 2 )nylon bushings ( item # 5666) from parts tree for the seat pan on my 606 back in April of 2012....looked for you today and it appears they are no longer available..

seems parts tree updated their site and I discovered the exploded veiw for my 60's tractors are no longer available........FYI:(

Looks like Gary L has what could work:)

Thank you kindly Terry

Sadly, the more I work with old stuff, the worse I feel about the future - Anyway, this site is Gold because of the members here who contribute information.
Thank you All
