Stilly 0 #1 Posted May 31, 2015 I have what I believe is a 1966 law ranger frame tag says model 1156. It did not have pulleys when purchased. I purchased a basket case for parts which included pulleys and old belt. Auto store matched belt to a 70 " belt. Belt is wider than old belt. I Can't stop belt when fully extending clutch. Can't shift gears. Any advice.
rmaynard 15,726 #2 Posted May 31, 2015 The belt guard has to be on to disengage the belt. Guides on the guard direct the belt away from the engine drive pulley when the clutch pedal is depressed. The correct belt for your L-156 should be a Toro #9691 1/2" x 70".
