jake22si 5 #1 Posted November 6, 2008 Besides getting new tires, whats the best way to get a set of chains to go from 9.50 to 8.50? Shorten the cross links, main links, or install more chains on the side to pull it tight? :D
htopjimmy26 3 #2 Posted November 7, 2008 Ok Jake I'll bite. Have you tried to put them on? I have been able to use the same chains on several tire sizes. :hide:
glenn27 71 #3 Posted November 7, 2008 I know what we used to do w/ auto chains--and the same principle should apply--take out 1 main link on each side, and trial fit...Let most of the air out of the tire-- put the chains on TIGHT as possible--then pump tire back to recommended psi... Just use a heavy rubber bungee, or two on the outside to take up the slack--in a X shape...across the rim... :hide:
