Tankman 3,516 #21 Posted May 5, 2015 Great Stallion! Grandsons love my '85 416-8............me too! ??? I use a 48" SD deck also. Your deck chute is under the deck body, mine is on top, can flip up if I need a bit more clearance. Which is correct?
shallowwatersailor 3,213 #22 Posted May 5, 2015 (edited) ??? I use a 48" SD deck also. Your deck chute is under the deck body, mine is on top, can flip up if I need a bit more clearance. Which is correct? The older 48" decks had the chute installed underneath. Starting with the 15-48SC02 in 1990, the chute was allowed to rotate up. That is one of the reasons the older decks had the chute removed by owners. I've had/have two older decks and it wasn't until I got the second one that I realized that the chute was missing from the first.
