tbarnhart 240 #1 Posted April 30, 2015 I'm wanting to put 23x10.50x12 ags on a c-161 auto. Does anyone know or have pics of the 520 12x8.5 wheels on a Sundstrand. It seems the brake drum area would be real close to hitting. Also, are the 520 wheels and the 8.5 in wheels on a Work Horse the same offset.
tbarnhart 240 #2 Posted May 2, 2015 Is this a dumb question, or has no one else ever tried this. I know that 520 wheels will fit on the Eaton and the 8-speeds, but the Sundstrands brake drum sticks out a bit farther. I've looked at quite a few other 12 x 8.5 wheels from various applications, but they never seem to have enough offset. If I was sure 520 wheels would fit, I could narrow my search a bit. Someone on the vast expanse of RedSquare should know
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,363 #3 Posted May 2, 2015 I am pretty sure it will work. Here is a pic of one done. This has 520 rims with 10.50 ags on back. This tractor is not mine however it will be soon.
tbarnhart 240 #4 Posted May 2, 2015 Thanks for the pics, Steve. The tractor I'm looking at has 10.50 carlisles on it but the rims are rusted pretty badly from calcium. They aren't original to the tractor and aren't wheel horse rims at all. The valve stem is on the outside, and the centers appear to have been moved and rewelded with more offset. I could just get any 8.5 in. wheel and cut them apart, set them where I want and weld them back, but I was trying to save the work and get something that would just bolt on. If you get the tractor, I'd be interested in knowing how much clearance it has between the brake and the left wheel.
