Niagara D 11 #1 Posted April 30, 2015 I have been meaning to call the local dealer but have yet to have the time durring business hours. Can any of you fine knowledgeable folks here inform me if you can still get the pump coupler from the dealer? Specifically the metal splined part that sits on the pump shaft. "D"- Man 827 #2 Posted April 30, 2015 (edited) I highly doubt that there is a dealer in the country that would still have one new. Then if they did, the price would probably be a little on the NORTH side, Mark. Edited April 30, 2015 by 23 Automatic LSE
Niagara D 11 #3 Posted April 30, 2015 Thanks for the heads up. It will at least remove the rush of calling the local dealer. So I'm guessing it might be a good idea to pull out the one I have and have a local machine shop fab up some new ones for me. Unless anyone has any other ideas for a possible mod/change over. daveoman1966 3,762 #4 Posted April 30, 2015 Are you asking about the coupler here... item # 53? It is part # 103029
Niagara D 11 #5 Posted April 30, 2015 That is the one. However if they are no longer available, I'm afraid part numbers are not going to help much.
Niagara D 11 #6 Posted April 30, 2015 Yep part number search on the outerweb confirms that they are unavailable. If I were to contract a local machine shop to fab I can probably drive the unit cost lower with a larger order. I am a few weeks before I will have time to do this but if there is any interest in them I am more than happy to help others out.
daveoman1966 3,762 #7 Posted April 30, 2015 This place MAY have a coupler....they show ONE REMAINING... price is $ arm + leg . http://www.m-and-d.com/MD_NLA-103029.html In case that link doesn't work, here is a SNIPE of the website
daveoman1966 3,762 #8 Posted April 30, 2015 (edited) I asked my pal Mr. GOOGLE this.... SPLINED SHAFT COUPLING. Here is what Mr Google found. You MAY find a source here for something close, then adapt it. I haven't done any more research on this..... good luck. I'd think that, if you can get the specs of the female spline, one of these sources could match it.... Edited April 30, 2015 by daveoman1966
Niagara D 11 #9 Posted April 30, 2015 Thank you for the time...looking at that gives me the idea to get a splined sleeve and then bore out a stripped 103029 and use a couple set screws to hold it in place. I will have to measure up the shaft when my spare pump gets here. That is a cheaper option then having a whole unit machined as I can bore it out at work.
