B100 8 speed shifter pulled out

Recommended Posts

Muel

I just finished the first mow of the year after the spring tune up. When I tried to pull it in to the garage it wouldnt engage the gear. The shifter felt very loose and pulled straight up and out.

Im assuming there is a retainer screw or something that came out. My question is: Will I have to pull the tranny out and split the case to fix this?

That was a huge help. A much easier fix than I feared. However my set screw was destroyed and I need a replacement. Are these still available or do I need to make my own?

Sam, Bob beat me to it.  They are available from McMasterCarr.  I think it is about $5 for 25 of them.  :)

I didn't know that Steve. I see they have all sorts of them including stainless. I also see that WW Grainger has them. An old Wheel Horse bag of them made the trip when we moved down here and I'm sure I'll never use all of them so I dropped one in the mail to Sam this morning. :)
