sned 15 #1 Posted April 19, 2015 I was at my buddies farm and noticed in their scrap pile something red. Upon closer examination discovered it was a wheelhorse B-145 Elec-Trak. So he gave it to me. I haven't been on here in a while and know nothing about these machines. What's getting one of these operational like? Hate to see it sit. I use my GT-14 daily. I'm just happy it didn't go to the scrap pile. I will post a picture shortly.

Forest Road 594 #4 Posted April 19, 2015 My local WH dealer rehabbed one a few years ago. He has a "green" customer who refuses to use gas powered equipment. She payed a large sum to have batteries replaced. There's a guy on Albany NY CL who typically has an ad up for these. Also search GE Elec trac is a twin to the WH. Good luck with her. octfst 378 #6 Posted April 19, 2015 (edited) I have one with a forklift attachment. Still haven't got it running I have power but not to the motor. Batt. will set you back $500 to $1000. depending on new or rebuilt and if you have a cores. I also have a New Idea that's the same as the Wheel Horse. Runs good but deck is shot. There's a couple of guys selling parts. They are kinda rare but the cost of Batt scares guys away. GE is also the same. Wheel Horse bought GE out in 1974.Thanks for saving it. octfst 378 #8 Posted April 20, 2015 No there's a motor for each blade on the deck & a large 36v motor that belt drives a trans.
rtfbg 744 #9 Posted January 13, 2016 sned .... how did you make out with this??? I just bought one, pick it up tomorrow. It's red, wheel horse decals, but the deck is yellow with General Electric tag on it.
JackC 617 #10 Posted January 14, 2016 An Electric Horse? Maybe with some mild custom touches and re-powered with Lithium Ion golf cart batteries? Electric cars are going to be the new thing. Wheel Horse was way ahead of the times with the B145 but the Electric Horse could make a come back. We need to see more Electric Horses.
DennisThornton 4,769 #11 Posted January 14, 2016 Awesome! I know where there's a GE (WH bought out GE's interest) in a falling down barn but the owner keeps telling me that someone else is going to fix it. Maybe after the roof falls in... I can't see offering a lot since the batteries will be a major set back and there is no deck or other attachments. Plus it is yellow!
