14 auto electrical problems

i hate wiring and electrical problems. i picked up another 14 auto with cut up wiring.as far as the wiring diagram shows i have everything hooked up right,i elimenated the light switch and the clutch switch for now,i just want to get it running and moving first.the problem is that when i turn the key to the on position the engine starts cranking. :banghead:

Remove this wire from the solenoid.

When you turn the key nothing should happen. Trace that wire back to the ignition switch. It should go from the solenoid to the clutch/brake safety switch, then to the PTO safety switch, and then to the "S" terminal on the ignition switch. If that is what you have, then I would suspect the ignition switch is faulty.

that wire is connected to the solenoid to the s terminal directly,there is no pto switch hooked into the wiring yet.i tried another switch that i know works and it did the same thing.

Do you have a meter or test light? When the ignition switch is turned to run, there should be no voltage at the S terminal. That terminal is only supposed to be "hot" when the key is turned to start.

i had it wired to the ignition switch just like the diagram and my buddy switched 2 of the wires and now it works like it should.
