Cali crop 21 #1 Posted April 18, 2015 (edited) I tracked a bad leak to the shaft in back of the cam block is there a seal here as well as the two orings? I have looked up other post here but the seal in those is clearly visible, would I have to take the hydro apart to remove the shaft? Thank for the help Edited April 18, 2015 by Cali crop
daveoman1966 3,762 #2 Posted April 19, 2015 Yes...there is a seal, in a recess, then a needle bearing behind it. If you can pick that seal out, good luck. If not, you are in for a bit of wrench time. This is a pump that I repaired last year...Sundstrand. MAYBE....you can drive that seal in a little more, enough to put a new seal right on top of it...then you'd have 2 seals. Make sure the shaft is smooth and rust free before driving on the 2nd seal....for fear of tearing it. If you pull the pump to replace the seal, look at the brass piston slippers. Chances are, they will need refaced...as well as other parts to restore. my direct email is: daveoman@windstream.net
