at first I thought - well ........ sandals, pick axe , hair and belt drives, 60 volts dc , undersize wiring and battery acid

there's just way too much in the way of safety advice not to pass this on (I know its 12 minutes of your life you will not get back but you have to watch the full video to benefit from the wisdom contained there in).

I like his method of switching the power on - pretty clueless about the electric part!!!  he doesn't know all the cell sizes need to be matched....

his apparent calmness to a blown up battery!

my brother once shorted a truck battery whilst tightening the terminal... the battery exploded in nanoseconds, covering him in acid and the plastic put a large gash in his chin :o

and not missing a beat in suggesting the exploded cell in the battery can be ignored, and the battery used as a "10 volt battery"

I just watched that while sitting here eating my breakfast. I'm confused. I can't figure out if I started my day off with a good laugh or if I'm in a state of shock. :teasing-tease:

Hes so young! Ill give him credit, that's innovative for knowing NOTHING of electricity and safety (and probably the $0 budget). But this is a bit (incredibly) scary.

Oh that's silly Koen. Then you'd have 6 reverse gears and only 2 forward. :teasing-tease:

this video also provides insight into the age old question you may ask when viewing a Craigslist advert for a rolling chassis.

"I wonder why the previous owner cut a square hole in the hood?   Oh look, he also left a 10 inch C clamp under the seat!"

You did it, didn't you SOI. You watched all 11 parts. My advice would be to just sit down in your favorite chair and just try to relax and think about cute little bunnies. Understand that a full recovery may not be possible at this point.

what has been seen cannot be unseen.

The homemade contactor switch made from the 2x10, door hinge and Kmart flat blade screwdriver is  - forgive the pun - burned into my brain.

I now have developed a full blown fascination with his YouTube website.

Don't get me wrong - I do see a level of talent here, but I'm looking for the the word describes what is lacking. I think I found out what is missing.

Look what sneaks into the video at 8 minutes 30.   :scared-eek:

My appetite today has been satisfied by the effort put forth to fix a power supply he blew up. I suspect he hooked up his laptop battery in reverse and blew out the protection diode across the output of the power supply.

the word I'm looking for is FINESSE.

And of course Thumper's safety tip of the day
