cdsl810 181 #1 Posted April 12, 2015 I've owned my 520H for 3 years now, bought it with 525 hours on it. Since the first moment I test drove it before it ended up following me home, I noticed that when the tractor is not running and the hydro pressure drops, the tractor is essentially in neutral and can be freely pushed. The previous owner claimed that the behavior is normal and that's what the parking brake is for--to keep it from rolling when off. My neighbor's B series with hydro locks up tight and is completely immobile when it's not running. I realize he has a different hydro drive than me. My question is... do I have a problem with an internal valve in the Eaton, or is this normal for the 520H? Personally, I would expect the hydro to keep the tractor from moving when off, and I have always wondered if there is a problem. It functions normally, otherwise. bmsgaffer 2,045 #2 Posted April 12, 2015 Its normal, thats why they dont have a "push valve". After they loose pressure you can push an eaton. You have to be sure not to push it too fast or it can build up pressure and damage things pretty badly.
boovuc 1,090 #4 Posted April 12, 2015 The Eaton's motion lever should be placed full forward when moving it. This is in the manual. It should never be towed. Only move it at a slow speed.
