Wheel Horse B-1100 Special...?

Recommended Posts

GeoThom

This tractor seems to be a clone of a C Model, 14 to 16 hp version.

It came to me without an engine, but with the 8 speed intact.

Also got a nice mule drive that's in good condition, but the mowing deck is as thin a metal as I have ever seen on anything.

I'm guessing it to be a mid 1980's product...

This must be one of those models that came out-fitted with the Briggs, instead of the Kohler, as

I have came to expect this when I see the word, "Special", on the hood.

I have searched for this tractor, and only found some pictures of one, but no information.

It is in too good a shape to junk, but that may well be it's future...

It has a rear mounted gas tank, (I'm guessing 8 Gal.).

And I am missing the seat pan.

I could really use some info on what would interchange with the missing seat pan.

I already have a Charger 12, and a Commando 8 that I use, (both 1968 models),

and also, an old C Model parts tractor that has rusted, severely.

The control tower on this B-1100 is quite a bit wider at the base, than the others I mentioned.

So is the Transmission cage. Not just any seat pan will work without cutting and such.

Not wanting to do that.

Yes, I know that most B Models are vertical shaft engine lawn mowers.

This B Model is made for a horizontal shaft engine,

and it is a Garden Tractor, complete with Lift and Drawbar.

A Fairly Big Garden Tractor Too.

Anybody have any clue about this model?

Manuals, Articles, anything...?

Thanks in Advance!

Can you post up a pic?

There was an 1100 but I thought it was a "C" series machine.

Mike,

         Thank You Very Much!

It is a con fusing Tractor!

It does show; B 1100 Special, on the hood.

I am thinking this is because of the Briggs engine,

as everything else does seem to be a C in every aspect.

Again, Thank You Very Very Much!

Found It!

A1-11B801   1984  GT Series Garden Tractor   GT-1100  8-Speed  Briggs 11   252417-0664-01   Wheel Horse   5086

I'm guessing, the, "B", comes from the use of the Briggs and Stratton 11hp engine.

The lettering on the hood does read; B-1100 Special, instead of, GT 1100 Special though.

And it's probably the very same instrument as what Mike mentioned above...

Is it terrible to find or get parts for this thing.

Nope....the GT series or Work Horse series is basically a 300 (308/310/312) series tractor with gray paint. I have one of the Work Horse's and it will accept all the same attachments that a "red" tractor will. And parts should be just as easy to find.

GeoThom, can you post a picture. I'm curious. I've never seen a GT series lettered like that. I had a GT-1100 and it did have a Briggs but there wasn't a B on any decal. Just as Mike said, the GT series was, for all practical purposes, just another Wheel Horse but painted gray.

By the way........... :WRS:
