Buzz 502 #1 Posted November 1, 2008 Don't forget the Pumpkin Run is next Saturday, Nov 8th. If you live an hour or two away it's worth the drive especially if you like street rods, tractors, hit & miss engines, motorclcles, custom vans, and a whole lot of everything else. Check with mapquest for directions and distances. Here's an address that will work. 353 Zion Rd., 08330 Now that gas is around $2.00 per gallon it's affordable, and besides, what else is going next Saturday besides yard work? Check out their website. Not too many picturs of garden tractors or old engine but there are plenty of them there. Buzz 502 #4 Posted November 10, 2008 Well the Pumpkin Run was yesterday but it should have been today instead. It rained and rained and rained. The show listed today as the rain date but they chose to have it yesterday instead. The forecast had called for sprinkles in the early morning and showers in the afternoon but the rain started around 10 am and got heavier as the day went on. We all started packing up and I was heading home by 1:30. It was a darn shame, they had at least 1000 street rods show up plus a bunch of antique motorcycles, a dozen 70's style custom vans, a couple dozen old military vehicles, some restored old tractor trailers, a lot of tractors, hit & miss engines, plus garden tractors. A big flea market and garden tractor pulls... in the rain. John Fisher brought a bunch of his 'Horses and Ray Walters Sr. and Junior brought a bunch too. But it rained and rained and rained. . Now getting out of there was fun too. It's in a junkyard with a lot of wood chips spread on the ground which was okay in the beginning, but after all the trucks and heavy equipment drove over them and all the guys pulling trailers....... well let's just say I got to try out my new Dodge's 4 wheel drive. Came out of there with a little mud splatter but by the time I got home in the rain the truck was almost clean. I feel sorry for the street rodders and all of their chrome and custom wheels. I know what they spent all day doing today...... Speaking of today, the sun was out, all day. Would have been a good day for a show. Maybe next year. I really, really hate rain
Butch 194 #5 Posted November 10, 2008 Buzz I was surprised it went on. It was down right nasty out. I'm even more surprised people took their rods. I don't know what the grounds there are like but I've been to the Carlisle Fairgrounds for shows when it rained. Never again. And you're right about today, Sunday. It was beautiful out. I spent the day outside sand blasting tractor parts!! :hide:
