botzitaliano 36 #1 Posted March 25, 2015 Hey all since the snow looks like its coming to a end, i think its time to try to customize my plow for my D250. What I'm looking to do is add a left/right piston to angle my plow. Currently i only have the one piston that controls up and down. The plow has the mount for another piston. But i don't have another hydro line or lever to control it. Is what I'm looking to do possible?? If so if anyone could shed some light on what you did and possibly share some pictures, id really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
Pullstart 63,200 #2 Posted March 26, 2015 I have an old push/pull with a rod through the dash type hydraulic valve for an old snowplow that I'm saving for a winged back blade setup some day, possibly you could pick one up and put it in line with your hydraulic hose to the lift cylinder? have an auxiliary rod to push or pull with some type of locking mechanism so that when you use your existing valve it re-directs the flow to your turn cylinder... it won't be on the fly, but it would still beat the pants off a manual turn plow! botzitaliano 36 #3 Posted March 26, 2015 Hey pullstart, thanks for the reply. Not sure i quite get what you explaining. Would you be able to post up a pic of what your talking about so i could get a better understanding. Im pretty good at building things off sight more than anything else. Pullstart 63,200 #4 Posted March 27, 2015 wow I guess what I have is pretty rare! I can't seem to find any pictures of it on google or ebay... I'll have to dig it out of the garage some time. but essentially it was a valve mounted under the hood of a belt driven pump system with a push/pull rod through the dash. the valve itself will flow straight through so your standard up/down function would essentially have no change during normal operation and has two other ports for the flow control. you push the rod forward and instead of straight through it would flow out of one aux port and the returning fluid would come back through the second aux port then back to the return. maybe I'll have to do a paint brush diagram if I can't locate a picture for you
botzitaliano 36 #5 Posted March 27, 2015 No rush but a pic would be super helpful, because it sounds like we have almost the same set up. I have a belt driven pump thats controlled by a push pull rod through the dash. So with any luck i could build the same set up.
