Ed Kennell 40,490 #1 Posted March 22, 2015 (edited) Any bald eagle watchers out there? The Pa Game Commission, HDOn tap, and Comcast business has installed a live stream camera on a local eagle nest here in SC Pa. She has laid two eggs that are due to hatch any time. She has been feeding on fresh trout stocked by the fish commission last week and delivered to the nest by her new mate. Here is the link to the camera. http://www.portal.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt?open=514&objID=1592549&mode=2 Edited March 22, 2015 by ekennell
Racinbob 11,726 #2 Posted March 22, 2015 That's cool! I just checked it out and it's offline right now so I'll try later. These were in the back yard a while back. Living on a lake we often see them getting their next meal.
Sparky-(Admin) 22,086 #3 Posted March 22, 2015 Very cool....I watched for about 10 minutes but never saw the other one bring in a fish...bummer! I see houses on the left side of the screen, must not be to far from civilization. And once in those 10 minutes the Eagle turned and looked straight into the camera (it seemed) and it reminded me of Sam from the Muppets. Ed Kennell 40,490 #4 Posted March 22, 2015 (edited) I just checked Bob, the site is up and running . Don't give up Mike. I've been watching the nest for a month, and I have seen them feed on a squirrel, a bird, and two trout. The eggs were due to hatch yesterday, and she has been acting real nervous constantly rearranging the material in the nest. The nest is near a local popular lake. The birdwatchers are required to keep 600 yds from the nest. Edited March 22, 2015 by ekennell

AMC RULES 37,146 #7 Posted March 22, 2015 Really neat site Ed... we've got Eagles here on the Hudson, and surrounding lakes. Way cool to see them out fishing from the ice flows, but... there's no way you can watch 'em as close up as you've shared here.
AMC RULES 37,146 #8 Posted March 22, 2015 (edited) Who knew...they actually have two pages of web cams set up, broadcasting from all around the country? http://hdontap.com/index.php/video/P0 Maybe we can convince them to set one up at the big show. squonk 42,541 #9 Posted March 22, 2015 We have lots of Eagles just a few miles from me at the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge. You can drive your car down in there at sundown and just sit and wait for them to come out. Lots of Osprey nests also. If you drive RT's 5 & 20 from Seneca Falls to Auburn you will see about 6 nests up on top of Nyseg's power towers. I went by yesterday and 2 Ospreys were sitting on 2 towers eyeballing my Tundra as I drove by.I think they thought I'd be to gamey so they passed me up! There used to be a nest a few feet from Rt 89 where it cut's thru the Refuge but they moved the nest as it was causing a traffic jam at times.

AMC RULES 37,146 #13 Posted March 24, 2015 (edited) Still too dark before I left for work this morning...could barely make out the white of it's head sitting in the nest. I left the window up, full screen for the wife to watch after I left...she got to see an egg cracked... and one eaglet emerge, early this morning. Site is up again...watching it now. Ed Kennell 40,490 #17 Posted March 25, 2015 Both eagles were on the nest moments ago.. Daddy eagle flew in without any new food. He just stopped in and snacked on the existing fish in the nest, then left. Momma eagle then got up and fed both babies a fish breakfast.
Deer Whisperer 66 #18 Posted March 25, 2015 Great to watch our national bird , so amazing. For you that want to see two eagles fighting on a dead deer and hundreds of bird pictures go to Mackinac county birds. Local fellow put this together. I have a few rare birds on this site. These are only local area birds taken in our Mackinac county of upper Michigan.

Rick_in_CT 156 #24 Posted March 27, 2015 I was watching the nest yesterday afternoon, the two babies really like to tussle with each other. Ed, thanks so much for turning us on to the eagle cam site. I showed it to my sister, and yesterday when I spoke to her she said that she is addicted to it. She had the netbook on the kitchen counter while doing dishes so she wouldn't miss a thing. She is an avid bird watcher, so this is greatly appreciated by her. Rick
rmaynard 15,918 #25 Posted March 27, 2015 (edited) That one little guy is feisty. I watched the last one of the eggs hatch, and after a couple of hours, momma had to keep separating them. Ed - I don't know how long you have been watching, but my grandson asked what they did when it snowed 10". Edited March 27, 2015 by rmaynard
