Dhodge 528 #1 Posted February 28, 2015 (edited) Have not looked it over well enough to determine if it is a 58 or a 59, but it is pretty complete and original excluding the hood decals. It has all the guards nice original tires that are not weather check, which is remarkable. It even has the, often missing, oil bath air cleaner and sediment bowl. Even has the original muffler. Lucked out on this one. Edited February 28, 2015 by Dhodge

Dhodge 528 #5 Posted February 28, 2015 Awesome find! What are your plans for it? Not sure yet, but I may just clean it up a bit and leave it original. I have several others taking numbers on which one gets the next restore. Working on a Suburban and a C-120 auto restore right now.
Racinbob 10,871 #6 Posted February 28, 2015 I like the idea of leaving it as is. It's a beauty. The decals do look a tad out of place though. I have to wonder what the paint would look like under them though.
Dhodge 528 #7 Posted February 28, 2015 That's the find of a lifetime. And it comes with a load of firewood. Beautiful !! yea a small load anyways. The RJ's and suburban's are terrible for the seat pan rubbing on the fenders when us fat guys add a little to much stress to the seat spring!!!!! That block of wood (4x4) keeps the seat pan spring from compressing downward enough to rub the fenders. It really sucks when you get one all restored and painted up and then the first time you take it for a ride your paint job is ruined because the seat has rubbed up the fender paint,

Dhodge 528 #10 Posted February 28, 2015 Looks great... me too. That's awesome, but we need more pics!!!!!!! Guys what's the best way to differentiate a RJ 58 from an RJ 59? I am sure there are serial numbers on the transmition for build date, but I don't know which is what.
stevasaurus 22,530 #11 Posted February 28, 2015 (edited) A hot air hair dryer will take off those decals. I'll bet the paint looks like the rest of the horse once you get them off. I am under the impression that if you do not have the model sticker on the tower...it is a 1958. You can not go by the casting dates on the transmission. Sorry...correct me if I am wrong...got that from MikesRJ. Edited March 1, 2015 by stevasaurus
Jake Kuhn 1,554 #12 Posted February 28, 2015 That is most likely a 58 from the oil bath and smaller seat, next to the shifter there should be a casting number, last number is 8 or 9 determines the year, or if there's none at all its an earlier 58.
