bmsgaffer 2,045 #101 Posted March 19, 2015 https://www.turfseats.com/p-1859-km-123-uni-pro.aspx This link was mentioned earlier in this thread. There are two options for seat switches at the bottom that were made for this seat, you will need the "NC" version as Bob mentioned.
Racinbob 11,238 #102 Posted March 19, 2015 I just did a search on Ebay and there's a bunch to choose from. Normally closed is correct. You want the operator in the seat to activate it which would open it.

So with out further adue I will order me up a "NC" switch. I want to read the rest on page 5 but I will order me one . Nothing wrong with installing it, grabbing a favorite beverage, having a seat and just enjoying the view.
jeff lary 171 #106 Posted March 19, 2015 (edited) I will at some point , as my grand farther used to say " when the spirit moves me" I never knew what he meant when I was a kid,..now I do. Edited March 21, 2015 by jeff lary
jeff lary 171 #107 Posted March 26, 2015 So the seat switch came today it will not work with my seat or I should say was not designed to be with the km 123 seat. It is a round twist lock seat switch and my seat bottom is smooth steel with adjustment tracks so the switch I got was for a seat with a hole for the switch to twist lock into. I have called the company and spoke to a tech he said " yea if your seat is a smooth bottom the switch we sent you will not work" So I have sent him some photos to show what the seat bottom looks like. bmsgaffer 2,045 #108 Posted April 2, 2015 I wonder if the Surplus center is a look alike KM 123? That switch you bought is straight from the KM manufacturer...
jeff lary 171 #109 Posted April 2, 2015 The seat I bought from surplus center I thought was a km123 .I think what happened was I copied a part number from this thread to that store and bought a seat but it is not the km123 ? At that time I received the seat I did not know that it was not the km 123 pro. Then I got to thinking I wanted a seat switch and was correctly told I needed a NC style. So I went to this other place "Turf Seats" and told them I had a km123 so they sent me a switch for it, it is a button type that twist locks into the seat bottom. As soon as I saw it I knew I would not work for me as my seat has no cut out for the switch to " twist lock into". When I called them back they double checked and said" yes we sent you a km123 switch" so I sent them some photos of the seat. Then they told me" yea that's not a km123". Evidently I bought a 3550 BK universal fold down seat with arms made by a company called Concentric. According to turf seats there is no safety switch for the seat I have. I get confused myself but this is what I think happened. I think being new here I was confused as to who I was talking to. I think I was looking at a WH with a km123 pro and in the next few posts someone gave me a part number to a seat they bought. I think I copied and pasted that number into the surplus center site and they had that seat in stock and I bought it. But in my mind I thought I was buying a km123 pro but in reality I was buying a universal seat from concentric instead. If anyone reading this thinks I am blaming anyone here I am not. I was thinking of a new seat for years and I got excited when I got some feed back and got the style narrowed down I just bought the wrong seat I guess. I still have the old orig WH seat and I have slid the seat switch out and I am now wondering if there is a way to use it with the seat I just bought? This seat is kind of disappointing in the way it is made. The seat bottom is metal and is held on to the seat with 3 screws. The screws are very course wood pan head screws 1 is 1.5" long and 2 are 1" each. They just are brute force driven into the plastic material the seat is made from not even straight in kind of crooked looking. I have taken this bottom off a couple times to first try the switch they sent and then to try the oem WH switch. The long screw looks to me like it may sitck into your butt after the seat gets some age on it? I may try to remove them and use shorter screws just in case I am correct. squonk 41,412 #110 Posted April 2, 2015 I have that seat and mine is over 5 yrs. old.The padding is not worn down at all. It still feels and looks new still I have gotten cheaper seats that "Look" nice but when you sit on them you feel every little screw.
jeff lary 171 #111 Posted April 2, 2015 Good I am glad to hear it I really like the seat and hope it will hold up under my butt for years and lawns to come !!
jeff lary 171 #112 Posted April 19, 2015 (edited) Well the spirit moved me,... I got the seat on the ole girl kind of a hassle tho had to take it off and redo but that was my fault. She sits good and rides good as well. Been out with my new Agri-Fab lawn sweeper and homemade lawn roller these last 2 days . She got an oil change greased new for the first time ever an in-line fuel filter. Which seems to be magic, there is no fuel in the filter but the tractor has run great for two days. I may have solved the worlds energy issues just buy a in-line filter and your tractor will run well with no fuel ! stare right at that baby yea there is no fuel passing through there ! Thanks for all the help and guidance .Jeff Edited April 19, 2015 by jeff lary

papaglide 542 #114 Posted April 20, 2015 Awesome seat. I have one also but haven't figured out how to put it in a Wheel Horse! I had it on a cub cadet(which I don't have anymore). It is super comfy!
squonk 41,412 #115 Posted April 20, 2015 Mike, If you get a std. set of those u shaped seat springs that MTD and all of those other junkers use for their seats, the seat will just bolt on. No drilling!
jeff lary 171 #116 Posted April 20, 2015 My 312 has a seat base that pivots on 2 bolts up front. I just removed that portion set it up on some saw horses then mounted the seat tracks to it there. Then slid the seat on to the tracks and re-mounted the seat base to the tractor. You will make out best if you leave the tracks a little loose to get the alignment of the seat to them just right. Just don't forget to tighten the bolts before you put the tools away just imagine how I know this...
Larry P. 45 #117 Posted May 22, 2020 Squonk, I'm interestd in getting that same seat that you have on your c160. will it push back far enough so that your knees have clearance and not hit the dashboard? The seat thats on mine now is soo far forward that my knees are practicall hitting the gear shifter. I have the seat all the way slid back but there is still little knee room. Can you post a picture of a side view of your c160 so I can see the seat and how far back it will go. Thanks for your help. Larry
Mikefeds 15 #118 Posted May 22, 2020 I purchased a V-250 from the Michigan Seat Company for my '73 WH Raider 10, Model 1-0360. The 4 screw pattern on the new seat didn't line up but the center hole in the seat which uses a 1/2" HH Screw works but I had to drill out the 3/8" center hole to make it work...... I might be overthinking this.... but should I look into using seat springs instead, despite the older tractor not using them.........My brother's Wheel Horse has the same V-250 Seat but his tractor is a later model 312-8... Suggestions or am I fine with just screwing the seat to the Fenders and should i put some type of Rubber base under the seat pan ??
Larry P. 45 #119 Posted May 23, 2020 I would suggest mounting the two steel seat springs first then the seat. The springs will help reduce vibration and shock. These tractors don't drive like a cadillac LOL.
