slammer302 2,155 #1 Posted February 25, 2015 Bmsgraffer got me to thinking with his post about the group buy on the suit case weights so I thought I would try to make up sum weights and a mounting bar and post sum pics as I go the weights I made are no near the 40 pounds each but more in the 8 to 9 pounds each range but I think they will still serve a purpose I cut out 7 of them from 5/8 steel 4 are out of stainless steal I will post sum more pics when I get a mounting bar made up
callum12 256 #2 Posted February 25, 2015 looking good, that amount of stainless must of cost a lot! how did you cut it?
bmsgaffer 2,046 #3 Posted February 25, 2015 wow! Stainless! Those look nice, they will look good all bolted up! Yea, I considered having some cut, but since I don't have any steel laying around (or a way to cut them) it's more expensive, so I'm stuck buying them still. slammer302 2,155 #4 Posted February 25, 2015 It would cost a lot for the metal but I cut them out at work from scrap on the CNC plasma I still have to pay for it but its a lot cheaper
slammer302 2,155 #5 Posted February 26, 2015 I got my mounting bar made tonight I went the simple route and just used a 2" × 30" piece of 1/4 " steel and broke it on the break press at work I think it will hold up fine I also noticed that I probably could hang a couple of these weights from a rear hitch if I wanted to add sum weight to the back of the horse

Tom. 70 #7 Posted February 26, 2015 Wow they look great. I am considering adding some weight to the front of my 312, do you find it makes the steering any heavier? Tom
