I now have the extra long axles {machined to accommodate dual hubs.}  These were made and shipped to me from another Red Square member.  The custom axles turned out excellent.

Are they in yet are they in yet are they in yet?  Huh huh?

That is gonna be the sweetest dually conversion to date!  Are those stock axles cut/extended and another keyway installed, or are the hot spots at about 9" hardened areas for the bearings by chance?

Thanks  Kevin, No these are not in yet, and no these are not, "stock axles cut/extended and another key-way installed," these were machined from 4140 raw shafts, turned, ground and polished and the gear and bearing areas were hardened via magnetic induction heat-treating.  I had an issue with one of the wheels leaking at the welded over valve stem hole and have to get that sorted, then I still need to get the other two tires mounted to the wheels, ect. ect.

They looked too pretty to be stock but I was just curious.  I wonder if stockers are heat treated or surface hardened near the wearable areas?

Nice machining.  I get the longer axles, but are there longer housings to support the axles?

Had a go at doing a mock-up of the transaxle assembled with the extra long axles for duals.  I bolted a N.O.S. "T" - Brake disc to the inner hub.  I also added a second axle spacer sleeve, between the two hubs.  Just for looks a couple items to sort of bling it a bit, the chrome dipstick and the N.O.S. rear hitch.
