19richie66 17,500 #1 Posted January 28, 2015 Not sure if anyone has seen this but they showed us at a safety meeting at work. I know this isnt wheel horse but the simple fact to take away from it is USE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE GEAR that applies to the job you are doing. Jack stands, wheel chocks, ear and eye protection, gloves, masks, etc. it takes a minute or two to put it on and avoid a lifetime of pain. Just thought I would share.

SousaKerry 501 #3 Posted January 28, 2015 Wow I have sat through several Arc Flash Training sessions at work, somehow those videos speak so much more then the sterilized corporate videos they show us.

oldlineman 1,481 #6 Posted January 28, 2015 Having been a Journeyman Lineman for 41 years (retired) I have lost some very close friends this way high voltage arc flash . I myself have been very lucky and after rubber gloving voltages as high as 7200 volts have not had any problems. I tryed to be very careful and keep my attention on what I was doing. But for the grace of God that could have been me. I have seen many videos such as this one and they all hit very close to home. Be safe guys and gals who work with electricty it can and will get you if you don't pay attention to your job. Glad to see he has recovered well. Bob
Racinbob 11,050 #7 Posted January 28, 2015 I too have over 40 years in the commercial/industrial electrical industry and have been close to several similar accidents but, fortunately, none this severe. Thank you for posting this Richie. Thank God for his miraculous recovery and for sharing his story so others might take heed.
