Crown Vic P71 20 #1 Posted January 23, 2015 A friend and I are having a hard time figuring out what the long flexy rod on the top of the transmission is for. We've seen it on many tractors, and have no clue what in the world it is called or what it is for... any help would be appreciated!
wheelhorseman 3,208 #2 Posted January 23, 2015 It is the cable housing, it is for running a cable through from the rockshaft to the rear for lifting the slot hitch or clevis hitch and or attachments
64s 83 #3 Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) Do you mean it actually flexes, or is it solid but bent. If solid but bent, its for a cable that runs from the rock shaft (lift bar) to a tiller, or clevis hitch. if it actually flexes, I can't say I know. Post a pic. Opps. A little late. Zeek 2,286 #4 Posted January 23, 2015 It flexes a little but that has no bearing on what it does. The conduit lays flat across the top of the tranny. It's sole purpose is to keep the cable from chaffing on any other parts.
