zanepetty 117 #1 Posted January 16, 2015 I'm putting a gravely muffler on my 753 as a stack. It's the muffler I've seen on some of your tractors on here. It has a 1 1/4 O.D. Outlet with relief cuts in it so I assume the piece of pipe I'm going to use for the stack goes inside?? My problem is I can't find a piece of pipe to go in there with a good fit! What have you guys found to work with?
squonk 41,638 #2 Posted January 16, 2015 Believe it or not a stainless steel bathroom grab handle or. Electrical EMT conduit
zanepetty 117 #3 Posted January 16, 2015 I have the emt stuff but it seems too small in there. Does the pipe go on the inside of the muffler?
kudzu3 323 #4 Posted January 16, 2015 (edited) Hi Zane! I carried my muffler (the one I got from you) to my friendly plumbing/electrical supply and almost anything else store, and he fixed me right up with pipe, elbow and lock nut. If you have a supply place near you, you may want to seek their help. Yes, the pipe goes inside the muffler and will seem like the muffler intake is too big but will tighten down nicely with the correct clamp. You will probably need one, maybe two 1 5/16" clamps (I had to use two). nobody had the clamps here so NAPA ordered me some, got them the next day. Good luck with it, how 'bout some pictures One other thing, I had to use one clamp at the relief cuts and another above the cuts to stop exhaust leaks. sorekiwi 761 #5 Posted January 17, 2015 Mine is EMT, I made one of the cuts at the start of a bend in order to get the turn-over at the top.

zanepetty 117 #8 Posted January 17, 2015 Ok thanks. Also where did you get it? And if not at a store, do you have anymore you would sell?
sorekiwi 761 #9 Posted January 17, 2015 It was a piece that we pulled out of our shop when doing some rewiring. Looking at some charts it looks like it was 1" conduit, that has an actual OD of 1.163". http://www.porcupinepress.com/_bending/conduit_size.htm I used an automotive type exhaust clamp to pull the muffler exit tight on it. squonk 41,638 #11 Posted January 18, 2015 (edited) I used the bathroom pipe on the original stack. It went on the outside of the muffler but fit good. I liked the look and flapper but did not like the soot on the hood at start up. I ended up making a stack with emt and added a modified turn out to the top like kiwi's.I again went on the outside of the muffler and double clamped it. Here's a short vid of AMC Rules on my Power King with the other stack I'll try to get a close up of it today Edited January 18, 2015 by squonk
zanepetty 117 #12 Posted January 19, 2015 The soot is what annoys me! I also added a turn out for that reason. Love the power king!
