Did I actually say 1000 amp ?  I might need a herd of 520's  to turn that. :banghead:

That is a Montgomery Wards unit and later than this 1953-55 unit. I recognize the 87-7461 type of catalog number but can't find it or the application.

I would guess it doesn't matter which way it turns and probably CCW since it has a pulley BUT I'm no expert so...

Those curved outlets will take a regular 110v 2 prong plug.

:text-thankyouyellow:  Garry, all the info is appreciated.

I think you are correct John, It will probably generate in either direction. I will check the brushes, they may give an indication of preferred rotation.

I think I'll go with the .300 Winchester Magnum live round.  Love that auto alert feature.  :scared-eek:

Garry,  Thanks to your ID of the unit, I have contacted our local Monkey Ward Bee Hind collector expert, and it will be going to his collection. :text-thankyouyellow:

I am not an "expert." That gets you in trouble with drawing "Red Lines."  :occasion-snowman:

Thank you too, Garry.

Gotta use the BLUE pen John.  Oh BTW I found my folder on the Simplicity Bee Hind. My son had borrowed it to tune up the  B &S on his grass collector.  You can have it when I see you.

There is a clue from the M/W advertisement .   Look  at the engine.  The flywheel fan shrouding indicates that the engine rotates CCW at the PTO which would mean the generator also turns CCW at the input pulley.  Is this true for all of these generators?  This is my guess, remember a guess.

Concerning the Amperage mistake, the tag says 1,000 watts.   At 115 VAC that means the max.amp @  8.7 A
