Wheel Horse Charger 7 Automatic

Wheel Horse 7

Greetings!

I am new to this forum and was wondering if anyone knows anything about the Wheel Horse Charger 7 model? My father was given this W.H. tractor years ago as a gift, so that his grand kids could ride it around his property. After a mechanical failure/user error, it unfortunately hadn't moved for several years. It wasn't until recently that I started tinkering with it, and got it started again.

Would anyone know anything about this tractor? Year? I have been researching it online and haven't found any pictures of Wheel Horse Charger 7's. It doesn't seem that common. Can anyone confirm this? Or, am I out to lunch? Anything information would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your input!

W.H. 7

PS. I removed the air cleaner to get it started.

PPS. I have been reading a lot on the forums, it is awesome to see people thoroughly enjoying the process of rebuilding these tractors. This W.H.C.7 might have to be my first project.

Welcome to the forum.

Wheel Horse also had a Charger series with horizontal crankshaft engines so the one you have is usually named a V7 for the vertical crankshaft and 7 horse power. There was also a V8.

Go into the manuals section and use the search term

v7

and 28 results will come up.  Then on the top line change the Sort by to Title and then Ascending order so the list makes more sense.

Hello and :WRS:

They only made that model in 1969 + 1970.  On the model tag a 1-4741 would be a 69, and a model 1-7751 would be a 70. It was actually called a Charger V7.  They both came out with Tecumseh engines.   :)
