A little quick and easy hub swapping

Recommended Posts

rustyoldjunk

The C81 that I just recently got only really had one issue,a funny looking hub repair. As I leaving the shop this evening,I thought I would take a look. Which then led to a quick hub swap. Once the tractor was jacked up I could turn the hub 2 inches or so back and fourth on the axle before it would stop. The hub was held in place with a collar and set screw on each side. I had a older set of hubs on the shelf so it doesn't match the other side but it has good hubs on both sides now. I was amazed when I got the hub off,the axle and key were both fine.

I did put the pictures in the correct order but luckily the computer/forum has decided to jumble them for fun when I posted.

Hard to believe it didn't booger up the axle, that hub is probably the worse I've seen that was still in one piece! Good job getting it back together.

I've never seen one worn that bad Rusty.  Good thing is that it came off easy right?  :)

I wouldn't have. If anything I would have taken a 8 speed that is already out that I have laying around and swapped it in. :)

Hi Guys my C81 has a 38 dual blade, side discharge mower deck (# 0537SC01) The deck belt also goes around the mandrels through the mule drive and also to the PTO so it's a huge belt. The current belt is stretched and ready to go. I believe it is around 1/2 X 142 inches but not sure was hoping one of you might have the correct size. Much appreciated. Rob

Hey guys, my wheelhorse c81 got a new transmission last year and now it’s grinding when I drive. First thing the brake pulley is on a higher shaft and doesn’t work with the c81 brake rod and hardware. Second the bearing behind the intake pulleyhas fallen out, which I assume is the grinding sound. Is there a way I can fix it without taking the whole transmission apart? I don’t have enough knowledge to do that kind of repair. Thanks so much -Shea

My c81 is comin along fellas. I’m getting a rear Clevis hitch, and some new front tires are comin in the mail next week. What do you think of those rears? Redid them myself and painted them!

Also a new battery has been put in since these pics were taken

Where can I find a good new drive belt for my wheel horse? I cant seem to find any online or anywhere else. I figured I would run it by you guys and see what surfaces.

I am getting a decal set for my only tractor, the C81. I was wondering if the 55 dollar price was too much. Let me know-I am getting them tomorrow. Also, they look pretty authentic to me but i am a newb. Some feedback would be  great.
