Height Adjuster, '82 Work Horse

Recommended Posts

Tankman

"Appears" I can add the height adjuster casting, threaded rod, knob 'n all the parts to my '83 Work Horse. I have all the parts from a C series Horse.

I have a shift panel, with the cutout for the vertical spacer. Will have to cutout the vertical ignition panel (hood stand plate(?), no biggie.

Can I assume all will fit? 'Course, the Work Horse is presently "High / Up" or "Low / Down."   :eusa-think:

Haven't had time, grandchildren over the Holidays, to take a peek-a-boo but, I'm thinking the height adjuster mounting holes might be in the panels already. We'll see over the weekend.

I suppose you could check the IPL on Partstree to positively confirm, but my best guess is that it will be a drop in.  I KNOW if you had a C-series from 1978 and later it would be a drop-in.  My motto is nothing ventured, nothing gained.  GO for it!

Thank you gentlemen. I was thinkin', "No problem."

Haven't had time yet but, when I install the height adjust I'll report. I'm guessing even the panels'll have the holes drilled.

The diagram is from Partstree, Work Horse '82.  :)

I moved the "Dial a Height" from my C111 to my '89 310-8 with no sweat, I used a common hole saw to make the clearance half holes in each piece of tin.

Haven't taken mine tower apart yet, easy job but busy Holiday.

Were the mounting holes pre drilled or did you have to drill the mounting holes?   :eusa-think:

I acquired the parts off of ebay and added it to my 310-8.  Cut the relief holes with a hole saw also. Did not have to drill the mounting holes as they were already there.

Did the same and, mounting holes were there. How simple.

I did cut relief hole in the top (vertical) panel. I'm going to change the bottom panel.

Guess T was cutting a corner here, there, anything to drop the consumer price. Dumb.  :angry-nono:

Took all of 1/2 hour or so.

Changed the panels rather than cut the original Work Horse two. The inner panels were punched as if Toro wasn't goin' to bother. Save a few bucks and leave the height adjustor out.

Works like a champ.
